Notes on Experiments Performed by Veterinarians and Doctors
Using VE Irons - Springreen Products aka VIT-RA-TOX Products
Pertinent condensed notes on experiments and clinical studies on:
1. VIT-RA- TOX #22 Springreen_, #21 Springreen_ Fortified, and #23 Springreen_ Powder (3 experiments).
2. VIT-RA-TOX #16 Detoxificant (4 experiments).
3. VIT-RA-TOX Seven Day Cleansing Program (1 experiment).
The following experiments were carried out by a number of different sources. All of the scientific evidence presented in the following pages seems to corroborate very well, indicating the validity of each experiment.
The first three experiments (I-III) test the ability of Springreen_, eaten by various animals, to provide an enhanced immune response to different pathogens, when already fed an acceptable and "perfect" Laboratory Diet. Springreen_ is the extracted and dried juices of the Cereal Grasses: barley, oats, rye, and wheat. These Cereal Grasses have been the only source of food for cattle, horses, bison, and other herbivorous land-based mammals since the beginning of time.
The Cereal Grasses are a complete and perfect food (in and of themselves) which supply all of the known and unknown vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, and cofactors necessary for mammalian life. These experiments show that even though the scientific community considers the Laboratory Diet perfect by their standards, Nature tells us that there is something man is missing in his analysis! Something only Nature can provide. We should all take heed and realize that although we may strive for the best sources and qualities of foods, in today's society of mass-produced foods there is still something lacking from our food sources.
One experiment (IV) shows the efficacy of the VIT-RA-TOX Seven Day Cleansing Program in relieving symptoms of internal toxification; such as constipation, headaches, sluggishness, depression, and indicanuria (toxicity). The Cleansing Program promotes fasting for seven days (Nature works in units of 7), in conjunction with natural, internal intestinal cleansers and colonic irrigation. There are no herbs used in this program except for the initial use of an herbal laxative as a catalyst for the cleansing process. The program mainly relies on natural, concentrated, whole foods to sustain nutrition during the cleanse. The fact that no digestion takes place means that the digestive organs of the body are allowed time to recuperate from the onslaught of food and food combinations that one normally eats. While the passage of food through the body is halted, internal cleansing works to eliminate and regenerate the alimentary canal.
The end result is a removal of accumulated fecal matter and toxins from the body, and a rebuilding of the nutritional quality of the bloodstream. For more information, see the Seven Day Cleansing Program instruction sheet and The Destruction of Your Own Natural Protective Mechanism - by V.E. Irons.
Four experiments (V-VIII) deal with adsorptive power of our specially processed Bentonite clay, # 16 Detoxificant. We remove all of the dirt, mica, impurities, and inert substances from the clay solution, leaving only the active component, montmorillonite. Montmorillonite is the molecule that gives Bentonite its adsorptive powers. By removing all of the other impurities, we are left with a concentrated and potent adsorptive solution.
By adsorptive we mean "adhering to the surface of...", much like a magnet. In fact, montmorillonite is shaped like a flat magnet with its flat surfaces negatively charged. This allows it to adhere (like a magnet) to positively charged particles. In reference to the following experiments, the montmorillonite actually adheres to the plasma membrane of the bacteria, causing its removal from the solution when the montmorillonite is removed. Our special Bentonite clay solution even adheres a most-elusive gram positive organism, Staphylococcus aureus, which is responsible for "Staph infections" in hospitals. This bacteria does not respond well to antibiotic treatments, but does respond well to Detoxificant. For more information on our Detoxificant, see History of Uses of Bentonite, The Value of Bentonite for Diarrhea, and Our Bentonite Products.

Experiment I - on Springreen. An in vitro experiment (meaning in the laboratory - not in a live animal).
Performed by a Veterinarian interested in nutrition - Unofficial - not acceptable by "officialdom" because a veterinarian is not an acceptable scientist.
A. Purpose:
To test the resistance of animal cell culture against virulent disease when the culture solution included VIT-RA-TOX #23 SpringreenPowder.
B. Method:
(a) A kidney was quickly removed from the embryo of a new born calf. The kidney was then cut into various pieces and immersed in a solution developed by Dr. Alexis Carrel who kept the heart of a chicken alive for 27 years in such a solution. The life of a chicken is only 7 to 8 years. The theory is that if the intake and elimination are both perfect the tissue can live forever. The old solution was replaced with fresh every 48 hours. This ensures perfect elimination and perfect intake.
(b) After 12 days all tissue cells were living and growing. They were then divided into 2 groups - one being fed #23 Springreen_ Powder added to the regular solution, the other the solution only.
(c) After 5 days the cells receiving the #23 SpringreenPowder were 50% more numerous and 33 1/3% larger than those without the #23 SpringreenPowder.
(d) Challenge: The tissue of both groups were then infected with a special virus which is highly virulent in bovine kidney tissue.
C. Results:
1. After 48 hours the cells without #23 Springreen_ Powder were 100% affected and dead. Those fed #23 Springreen_ Powder were only 25% affected. Seventy-five percent (75%) survived the shock and became healthy again.
2. The live virus was recovered from the controls for future use, but no live virus was recovered from the tissue fed the Springreen_ - all had been killed by the more healthy tissue.
D. Conclusion:
The #23 SpringreenPowder provided reserved vigor, lasting protection and resistance to the virus disease in vitro.
E. Summary: To remember...
1. Tissue Culture - NOT FORTIFIED with #23 SpringreenPowder.
All cells were killed by the infective bacteria. The bacteria lived, multiplied, and were recovered for future use (this bacteria is expensive so recovery is important).
2. Tissue Culture - FORTIFIED WITH #23 SpringreenPowder.
One fourth (25%) died - the other three-fourths (75%) killed the bacteria and continued to grow and live healthfully. No bacteria were recovered.
3. This result is highly significant, actually making scientific history for it has been considered a scientific fact and testified to by government witnesses in Federal Courts that "whenever there is a struggle between bacteria and tissue (they) insist that in all cases the number of organisms always determines the outcome. " Here we have a perfect diet, one that continues life forever, if the intake and elimination is continued, and as expected the germs won the battle over the tissue receiving the perfect diet. Yet, when the Springreen was given, something above and beyond a perfect diet was furnished. With the same number of organisms, instead of the perfectly healthy tissue being killed the Springreenwon the battle and the tissue killed the organisms.
This is further verified in the next two experiments.
Experiment II - on Springreen in vivo (meaning in the animal body).
Experiment made by a Veterinarian - Unofficial - not accepted by "officialdom" because he is not an M.D. nor does he have an acceptable scientific background.
A. Purpose:
To prove the increased nutritional resistance offered by VIT-RA-TOX #22 Springreen in preventing infection of Leptospira bacteria in guinea pigs.
B. Method:
(a) 30 Guinea Pigs were used - divided into 2 groups of 15 each, one group was fed the regular complete and Laboratory Diet and the other fed the same diet plus #22 Springreentablets for 30 days.
(b) Both groups of 15 each were then divided into two groups of 8 and 7 each.
(c) The groups of 8 each (one fed Laboratory Diet and the other fed Laboratory Diet plus #22 Springreen_), were then fed Leptospira - a most deadly bacteria which is spirally shaped like a corkscrew. In 3 days both groups were fed approximately 1,000,000 organisms per animal, per day.
(d) The groups of 7 each were both injected with 250,000 organisms of the same virulent Leptospira bacteria.
Notice: Both groups of 8 were fed the organisms, while the groups of 7 were injected with the organisms.
C. Results:
(a) Of the 8 NOT FORTIFIED with #22 Springreen_ and fed the 1,000,000 organisms per day - 5 died in 4 days, the remaining 3 lingered alive but were violently ill for a couple weeks. Upon being fed the #22 Springreen_ they eventually recovered.
(b) Of the 8 FORTIFIED WITH #22 Springreen_ and fed the 1,000,000 organisms per day - 3 showed moderate symptoms for 2 days, the other 5 remained entirely free of symptoms. All recovered and continued entirely well - with no after effects.
(c) Of the 7 NOT FORTIFIED with #22 Springreenand injected with 250,000 organisms - all died in 3 days.
(d) Of the 7 FORTIFIED WITH #22 Springreenand injected with 250,000 organisms - 1 died in 4 days, 6 completely recovered in 3 days.
D. Summary: To remember!
15 Guinea pigs fed Laboratory Diet only.
8 Fed Leptospira bacteria - a deadly germ - 5 died, 3 very ill but recovered when fed #22 Springreen. 7 Injected with Leptospira bacteria - all died.
Comment:
15 Guinea pigs fed Laboratory Diet plus #22 Springreen. 8 Fed Leptospira bacteria - all lived. 7 Injected with Leptospira bacteria - 1 died, 6 lived.
Here again the perfect Laboratory Diet did not protect and the germs won. But with the same number of germs the animals fed the #22 Springreen won out. This is not just the feeding of a dietary supplement. This is a life and death struggle with the #22 Springreenvictorious.
Although this work is not recognized by the "official " scientific community, its results are no less valid. In science, the credibility of an experiment comes from its ability to be reproduced. The next experiment was performed by an accredited Laboratory and confirms the results obtained by this Veterinarian.
Experiment III - on Springreen in vivo.
Performed by an accredited and acceptable scientific laboratory.
A. Purpose:
To prove the greater vitality and resistance power afforded by VIT-RA-TOX #22 Springreenand #21 Springreen Fortified.
B. Method:
(a) 120 mice used - all fed an already acceptable complete Laboratory Diet:
1. 40 fed Laboratory Diet only.
2. 40 fed Laboratory Diet plus #22 Springreenfor 30 days prior to challenging.
3. 40 fed Laboratory diet plus #21 SpringreenFortified for 30 days prior to challenging.
(Test showed very little difference between #22 and #21 so average of the two were used in the graph.)
(b) Challenge: Pneumococcus bacteria (pneumonia) were injected into all mice.
(c) Prior to start of experiment it was ascertained that 500 Pneumococcus organisms were necessary to kill 50% of animals fed regular Laboratory Diet leaving 50% alive (a value known as LD50).

D. Conclusion:
Heretofore, science has maintained that if animals or man were being fed an accepted, complete diet then no supplement could show beneficial effect. This experiment proved that Springreenoffers increased nutritional resistance in a life or death struggle.
Note that it took only 1,200 organisms to kill all Laboratory Diet mice. But, it took over 50% more (or 1,850) organisms to kill the mice whose Laboratory Diet was fortified with Springreen (see E. & G.).
Furthermore, as the number of injected organisms increased, the percent of protection of Springreen_ also increased greater in proportion. At 500 organisms the difference in percent of survivals was only 10% (A. & B.), but at I ,000 organisms the difference was 17%, and at 1,200 organisms the difference was 20%. Stated differently, when all Laboratory Diet mice were dead, 20% of those fortified with Springreenwere still living.
Here again, we have a case where a perfect diet was being fed. A perfect diet is meant one which produces large and frequent litters with no abortions or early deaths among the young, where generation after generation have no illness. Even with this perfect diet the organisms killed all the animals leaving 20% of those on Springreenstill living and so virile that it took an addition of over 50% more organisms to kill all those using Springreen.
It should be noted that this is not just the addition of another food supplement to help overcome some minor deficiency. This is a life and death struggle with survival definitely on the side of Springreen.
Experiment IV - on the Seven Day Cleansing Program Actually, this is in vivo Clinical Evidence.

D. Comment:
This indicates the futility of specific treatment for specific symptoms, when they all disappear with just one treatment, namely, elimination of the toxins in the body. (Elimination of the toxins in the body produced by the condition known as autointoxication, or toxemia.)

E. Comment - The results were so far superior to what they had ever found from any other treatment that they asked permission to have them printed in a scientific magazine. (See also History of Medical Uses of Bentonite.)
Experiment VI - On Springreen #77 Detoxificant (in aqueous solution, in vitro). Conducted by recognized scientists in recognized laboratory connected with recognized Medical Hospital.
A. Purpose:
Experiment VI - on Detoxificant (in aqueous solution, in vitro).
Conducted by recognized scientists in a recognized laboratory connected with recognized Medical Hospital.
To demonstrate in vitro the sorptive (short for adsorptive - to condense and hold upon its surface) powers of our special Bentonite preparation, VIT-RA-TOX #16 Detoxificant.
B. Procedure:
To simulate intestinal action, motion, alkalinity, etc., the liquid bentonite was placed in a beaker with a magnetic agitator. To this solution was added a culture of a foreign bacteria commonly found in human stools (Serratia marcescens). Next a perforated cylinder the size of a test tube containing a powdered alkaline was placed in the solution. The liquid bentonite went through the holes of the cylinder dissolving the alkaline substance which tended to make the area around the cylinder alkaline thus simulating the alkaline of the intestinal digestive juices. This causes the bentonite to gel on the tube so that the bentonite could be removed from the liquid. The bentonite should attract and hold the bacteria as is done in the intestinal tract.

At the end of the experiment, the amount of #16 Detoxificant that remained in the beaker was measured. The experimenters found that 15% of the # 16 Detoxificant removed 85% - 99% of the bacteria in 90 minutes.
Summary: Several tests were made of which Trials 1 and 2 were examples: The poorest test showed removal of 85% of the bacteria. The best test showed removal of 99% of the bacteria. All in 90 minutes time.
This gives in vitro corroborative proof of what the clinical evidence of Experiment V showed.
Experiment VII - On Detoxificant (in aqueous solution, in vitro). Conducted by accredited scientists in accredited laboratory connected with accredited Medical Hospital.
A. Purpose: To ascertain in vitro the value of Springreen #77 Detoxificant in aqueous solution in the removal of Staphylococcus aureus - the deadly bacteria so prevalent today, especially in hospitals.
B. Method: Same as Experiment VI.

It should be noted that in Trials 1, 2 and 3 the number of deadly bacteria was reduced 21 %, 39% and 40% respectively, or an average of 33 1/3%.
At the end of the experiment, the amount of # 16 Detoxificant that remained in the beaker was measured. The experimenters found that 20-30% of the # 16 Detoxificant removed about 1/3 of the bacteria in 1.5 hours.
D. Summary:
S. aureus is a gram positive bacteria that does not respond well to antibiotics. Some bacteria of this species have even become resistant to the antibiotic, methicillin. Current medical treatment uses a number of antibiotics in conjunction, including the glycopeptide antibiotics teicoplanin and flucloxacillin. Both have adverse side effects and can lead to ototoxicity (auditory toxicity) and nephrotoxicity (kidney toxicity). Treatment duration typically lasts from 4 to 141 days.
In each 1.5 hours the bentonite can remove 1/3 of this deadly germ. Therefore, it would seem that an 8 oz. glass of #16 Detoxificant every 2 hours should do an excellent job. Within 6 hours the Staphylococcus population can be reduced to a point where it is no longer a problem. This can be done orally without side effects or toxicity.
Experiment VIII - On Detoxificant (in aqueous solution, in vitro).
A. Purpose:
To demonstrate in vitro sorptive powers of VIT-RA-TOX # 16 Detoxificant against a combination of 3 organisms, two gram negative and one gram positive, namely:
(a) Proteus mirabilis, a gram negative organism, causing severe diarrhea.
(b) Escherichia coli, a gram negative organism, occurring in a very large population friendly to the body.
(c) Staphylococcus aureus, a gram positive deadly organism.

At the end of the experiment, the amount of # 16 Detoxificant that remained in the beaker was measured. The experimenters found that 85% of the # 16 Detoxificant remained in the beaker.
Comments:
In Trials 3 and 4 it was shown that approximately 15% of the Bentonite preparation was able to remove from 95% - 100% of P. mirabilis organism, 83-100% of the E. coli organisms, and 100% of the S. aureus organism in the concentrations employed. In other words, there appeared to be selective sorption.
These in vitro experiments demonstrate the mechanics of how the # 16 Detoxificant picks up the organisms. They tend to corroborate the Clinical Evidence in Experiment V on diarrhea. Undoubtedly more clinical evidence on symptoms other than diarrhea would be most interesting.
NATURAL VITAMINS
Probably never in history has so much money been spent on the advertising and the purchasing of any merchandise with so little knowledge of the product itself on the part of either the seller or the buyer as has been spent on 'Vitamins'. Billions are being spent annually and most of the purchasers, jobbers, wholesalers, retailers, or direct to the consumer salesmen do not know the difference between a synthetic, a crystalline or a truly Natural vitamin. They know little of how they are made, their characteristics, their attributes, their sources, their advantages or disadvantages, and how to tell one from the other by reading the label. We want our SpringreenDistributors and consumers to know exactly what they are selling and buying.
A Natural vitamin - As far as our literature is concerned "Natural" means vitamins as found in natural foods, untempered with (not segregated, separated or isolated) in any way that might change their molecules - their biological or biochemical combinations, or their action - this usually means that only fiber and moisture are removed. Natural Food Vitamins are never highly concentrated. Nature is interested in balance not potency. This means that to get higher than normal potency natural vitamins must be consumed in greater quantity. Synthetic and crystalline vitamins lend themselves to high potency concentrations in a few small pills. Naturals must be used in greater quantity as you would with food.
Natural Vitamins build nutritionally - synthetics medically. Natural vitamins build slowly but exceedingly well as Nature always does - Synthetics can give a quick spasmodic spurt that may not be lasting. Naturals are nontoxic in any consumable quantity. Some synthetics may be very toxic. Synthetics are not a genuine food Finally, Naturals are much more expensive because they are perishable and every precaution must be taken to preserve their life and integrity. Synthetics are mostly 'dead', inert, cheaper and present much less expensive handling problems. As with any inert material greater mass production creates cheaper bargain prices. All labels of truly Natural food concentrates should indicate the exact food source from which a vitamin is obtained.
CRYSTALLINE - Means it had a natural food as its original source but probably was treated with various high powered chemicals, solvents, heat, and distillations to reduce it down to one specific pure crystalline vitamin or amino-acid. It is no longer natural. It no longer has its synergists (enzymes, coenzymes, minerals, mineral activators, and co-vitamin helpers). It has been reduced to a pure simple crystalline powder.
SYNTHETIC - Means that in the laboratory the scientist has attempted to reconstruct the exact structure of the crystalline molecule by "putting together" or chemically combining molecules from other known sources. Chemically, therefore, there is no difference between the synthetic and the crystalline. As a vitamin there is no difference between the two. The crystalline may have a slight advantage in that it is difficult to reduce any natural product to an absolutely pure state and some impurities might be naturally occurring thus giving a little added value to the crystalline over the synthetic. On the label for either synthetic or crystalline only the chemical name of the single vitamin is usually given. Legally it is not necessary to give the source from which the synthetic chemical is derived.
When comparing Natural concentrates with synthetics , Just remember:
1. "There never was anything in the world that some man could not make a little worse and sell a little cheaper. Those people who consider price only are this man's lawful prey." - John Ruskin.
2. "The bitter memory of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of cheap price is forgotten.
3. GOD made Naturals vs MAN-made synthetics. In which will you put your trust?
Note 1: The synthetics are so much cheaper that commercially they have actually replaced most crystallines. Only a few crystallines are commercially used, such as: (1) B12 (2) Alpha Tocopherol (partially replaced), and (3) Inositol.
Note 2: Legally a crystalline can be called natural because it was isolated from a natural product. But it is not Natural as herein described.
MINERALS
Minerals are characterized as:
INORGANIC - The minerals as found in soils, rocks and chemicals. Some are obtained in pure crystal powder while others are unstable alone so are available only as a salt (i.e. combined with something else).
ORGANIC - These are minerals that have been organized by photosynthesis from the action of the sun, soil, air and water into plant life and directly into animal tissue.
COMMENT: Every factor needed in human nutrition that has ever been isolated by scientific man from any vegetation is found in Springreen- On our label we state "as found in Springreen or as "analyzed from Springreen" or as "naturally occurring in Springreen" Our potencies are small compared to synthetics and crystallines. But they are in Nature's own balance, they carry their own synergists (Minerals, Mineral Activators, Enzymes, Coenzymes, Amino Acids, Vitamins, etc.) all closely balanced and bound together by Nature. They are 'alive' and ready to function without chemically upsetting Nature's delicate balance in the human body. They are not a man made chemical drug.
